Hi SEADOG BLOG,
Firstly, thank you for your continued support of Scarborough Athletic FC and the club's democratic Society.
The 2010-11 season is upon us, and we all hope that this year will be our year to be triumphant in the league, after a fifth placed finish last year. Brian and the squad are preparing well and this weekend sees the club's first chance of silverware - in the Supporters' Direct Shield against newly formed Merthyr Town and AFC Telford. It will be great to see as many Seadogs down there as possible.
Over the past year the club has progressed massively off the field, with the launch of the Back2Boro campaign (www.back2boro.co.uk), the influx of new volunteers behind the scenes in the areas of finance and memberships, and the creation of a three year business plan, which will be available to members over the next few weeks. We continue to believe that fans-owned clubs are the future of football, and we thank you for your continued support of that initiative through your membership of the SAFC Society.
This newsletter gives all the details of how YOU can stand for election to the board of Scarborough Athletic FC. The club's annual elections take place to freshen up the board and bring in new members with new skills and enthusiasm.
