Scarborough Athletic Reserves 1-0 East Riding Rangers

Whilst the first team had a bad day at the office, crashing out of the FA Cup with a 2-1 defeat up at Chester-le-Street, the reserve team managed to beat East Riding Rangers 1-0 to register their first win of the Humber Premier League Divison 1 season.

The game was played in showery conditions at the reserves Filey Sports Complex HQ.

The reserves seem to have gelled a bit since the last time Seadog Blog saw them which was pleasing  to note.

The Seadog youngsters took the lead when seeming to score direct from a corner, If it wasn't direct from a corner then it was a very deft touch by someone!

In the second half Boro's keeper saw red for a challenge just outside his box - I guess he was the last man.

This was the cue for East Riding Rangers to press on and 10-man-Boro had to work very hard. The stand-in keeper didn't really have that many saves to make though. Indeed Boro very nearly sneaked a 2nd goal very late on.

Earlier on the game was marred by a nasty injury to our young No 7 who was taken to hospital by Ambulance.

This victory puts the reserves up to 7th place in the early Humber Premier Div 1 table. An unofficial Seadog Blog headcount put the crowd at 28.
